It can be helpful to obtain <strong>feedback<\/strong> from colleagues, superiors and employees &#8211; in <strong>informal form<\/strong> through a <strong>conversation<\/strong> or through formal <strong>360\u00b0 surveys<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Coaching<\/strong> can also be helpful for management audit preparation, in which an experienced coach gives the manager impulses to reflect on their own leadership values, leadership culture, role in the management team, success factors in their professional history, as well as leadership mistakes and setbacks.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-d0279d2 elementor-widget elementor-widget-spacer\" data-id=\"d0279d2\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"spacer.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-spacer\">\n\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-spacer-inner\"><\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-ea8412a elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"ea8412a\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\"><b>Project example for a management audit<\/b><\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-04ccb6c elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"04ccb6c\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h3 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\"><b>Initial situation<\/b><\/h3>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-b1a9522 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"b1a9522\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p data-pm-slice=\"1 1 []\">An international insurance group wanted to give its managers at the first two levels below the Executive Board the opportunity to develop personally.<\/p>\n<p>At the same time, <strong>the Group<\/strong> was undergoing a <strong>strategic and cultural change<\/strong> &#8211; more and more traditional insurance processes (contract preparation, claims processing) were to be automated (the so-called &#8220;insurance factory&#8221;), while managers were expected to act more entrepreneurially, both in improving processes and in developing new products.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-005d35b elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"005d35b\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h3 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\"><b>Management audit process<\/b><\/h3>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-2c42276 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"2c42276\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<ol><li style=\"list-style-type: none;\"><ol><li>Together with the Management Board and HR, the <strong>future requirements for managers <\/strong>with regard to the <strong>strategic changes <\/strong>were developed in a workshop and translated into <a href=\"https:\/\/management-diagnostik.de\/allgemein\/kompetenzmodelle\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">competency models<\/a>, which formed the basis for the assessments in the audit.<\/li><\/ol><\/li><\/ol><p><br \/><br \/><\/p><ol><li style=\"list-style-type: none;\"><ol><li>Together with the Management Board and HR, the <strong>aim and content of the audit <\/strong>were explained to all participating managers in a &#8220;town hall meeting&#8221; and questions were answered.<\/li><\/ol><\/li><\/ol><p><br \/><br \/><\/p><ol><li style=\"list-style-type: none;\"><ol><li>The management audit itself was carried out by a limited number of <strong>md consultants<\/strong>. The consultants involved in the project were thus able to quickly gain a great deal of knowledge about the organization and share this with each other in an uncomplicated manner.<\/li><\/ol><\/li><\/ol><p><br \/><br \/><\/p><ol><li style=\"list-style-type: none;\"><ol><li>The focus of the management audit was a long, detailed <strong>interview<\/strong> with the participants &#8211; conducted by two md consultants in each case. The aim of the interview was to encourage the participants to reflect on themselves, their strengths and weaknesses. In addition, various diagnostic procedures (psychometric procedures to measure <strong>cognitive performance <\/strong>, <strong>personality<\/strong> and <strong>motivation<\/strong>) were carried out online in the run-up to the audit. The audit itself included a complex business <strong>case study<\/strong> and a <strong>role play<\/strong>.<\/li><\/ol><\/li><\/ol><p><br \/><br \/><\/p><ol><li style=\"list-style-type: none;\"><ol><li>Participants received <strong>feedback<\/strong> on the test results, the individual exercises and their overall impression immediately after the interview. One week after the audit, the participants received a detailed <strong>individual results report <\/strong>with the results of the audit, the <strong>strengths<\/strong> and <strong>weaknesses<\/strong> and specific <strong>development tips<\/strong>.<\/li><\/ol><\/li><\/ol><p><br \/><br \/><\/p><ol><li style=\"list-style-type: none;\"><ol><li>After the audits were carried out, the assessments were presented to the Management Board in the form of a <strong>managers&#8217; conference<\/strong>, at which the experience gained from day-to-day work was incorporated into the overall assessments.<\/li><\/ol><\/li><\/ol><p><br \/><br \/><\/p><ol><li style=\"list-style-type: none;\"><ol><li>Impressions and the psychometric results of the participants as a whole were also presented to the Executive Board in the form of an analysis<strong>(management summary)<\/strong>. It was reported back to the Management Board that the company has good overall management quality (with 2 exceptions), but that there are <strong>significant conflicts<\/strong> between two central areas. md expressed the suspicion that the cause of this conflict could be a <strong>conflict between two of the top managers<\/strong> &#8211; which they implicitly confirmed. <strong>md<\/strong> suggested that contact be made with an experienced <strong>clarification helper<\/strong>.<\/li><\/ol><\/li><\/ol><p><br \/><br \/><\/p><ol><li style=\"list-style-type: none;\"><ol><li>With the support of md, <strong>follow-up discussions<\/strong> were held with the participants 6-8 weeks after the audit. The results were discussed and explained there once again. The participants then wrote their own <strong>individual development plan<\/strong>, which consisted mainly of self-initiated activities and only rarely required support from HR development.<\/li><\/ol><\/li><\/ol><p><br \/><br \/><\/p><ol><li style=\"list-style-type: none;\"><ol><li>In a further follow-up after one year, the participants were asked about their overall <strong>assessment of the audit<\/strong> (anonymously) and, with one exception, all found it to be transparent, helpful and fair, and the recommended development measures to be positive. The Executive Board found the recommendations for action made by the audit consultants to be very helpful in resolving a long-standing conflict between two areas.<\/li><\/ol><\/li><\/ol><p><br \/><br \/><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-3a46f03 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"3a46f03\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\"><b>Conclusion<\/b><\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-280f85b elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"280f85b\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p data-pm-slice=\"1 1 []\">A <strong>management audit<\/strong> is an <strong>analysis of potential<\/strong> &#8211; not only for individual <strong>managers<\/strong>, but also for <strong>management <\/strong>and the company<strong> as a whole<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p data-pm-slice=\"1 1 []\">During an audit, not only the <strong>managers<\/strong> are scrutinized, but also the <strong>corporate culture<\/strong> and top management.
